What is cloud computing?

Cloud computing is a technology that allows users to access and store data, as well as run applications, over the Internet instead of on local computers or servers. It involves the use of remote servers hosted on the Internet to manage, process, and store data. Cloud computing services provide scalability, flexibility, and cost efficiency, allowing businesses and individuals to access computing resources without the need for significant hardware investments.

Emails travel on the internet through a series of servers and protocols. When you send an email, it first goes to an outgoing mail server (SMTP server). From there, it is transmitted to the recipient’s incoming mail server (IMAP or POP3 server) via the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP). The recipient then accesses their email through an email client or webmail interface to view the message. This process involves multiple servers and routing points across the internet to ensure the email reaches its destination.

Downloading and streaming are two distinct methods of accessing digital content. Downloading involves saving a copy of a file from the internet onto your device, such as a song or a movie, which can be accessed offline. Streaming, on the other hand, allows you to watch or listen to content in real time without storing it permanently on your device. Streaming services deliver content continuously as you consume it, making it convenient but requiring an active internet connection. The key difference is that downloads are stored locally while streaming relies on a constant data connection.

To set up internet in a rental, you should first contact an internet service provider (ISP) to find out what options are available in your area. Once you have chosen a provider and a plan, the modem, and any necessary equipment will be shipped to your address. You will need to connect the modem to your phone or cable line and then set it up by following the instructions provided by the ISP. Once the modem is set up, you can connect your devices to the Wi-Fi network using the login information provided by your ISP.
